ABOUT GREER
Greer Lankton solidified herself as a key figure in the East Village art scene of the 1980's through creating an entire universe of fantasy and discord. Lankton worked prolifically bringing dolls into this world, all of which had their own lives, complete with unique trials and tribulations. Throughout her career, Lankton defined the counterculture of her time by exhibiting her works throughout New York City and beyond. Establishing her beginnings at the Art Institute of Chicago and Pratt, Lankton went on to several solo exhibitions at Civilian Warfare, two group shows at MoMA PS1, then was included in the Whitney and Venice Biennials in her lifetime. Her work has since been shown in retrospect at the ONE Archives Gallery & Museum in Los Angeles, Participant Inc. in New York City, and Between Bridges in Berlin.

ABOUT THE ARCHIVE
G.L.A.M. (the Greer Lankton Archives Museum) is an ongoing project which centers itself on the preservation and circulation of works created by artist and transgender icon Greer Lankton through exhibitions, press, and film. The mission of the archive is to lend itself as a resource center for information and images on Lankton’s life and work in order to carry on the legacy of all that she created through her art. As a nonprofit group, the archive strives to provide support to the trans and gender nonconforming communities through fundraising and outreach. The archive, consisting of hundreds of works, images, and personal ephemera, can currently be viewed upon appointment in Los Angeles in order to ensure the accessibility of her work.
